Project Masam\u2019s Managing Director, Ousama Algosaibi, confirmed that clearance operations started immediately upon the teams\u2019 arrival in Midi. He noted in a press statement that this phase was preceded by a month-long field survey.<\/p>\n
Algosaibi added that both field and medical support teams in Hajjah had undergone extensive training and qualification programmes delivered by Project Masam. He stressed that launching operations in Hajjah represents a new phase in the wider humanitarian mission that Project Masam is carrying out across Yemen\u2019s governorates and districts.<\/p>\n
The managing director expressed his gratitude for the support provided by the project\u2019s joint operations and the command of the Yemeni Fifth Military Region, noting that their cooperation was key to completing the preparatory program in Hajjah in record time.<\/p>\n
He further explained that the nature of the work in Hajjah is not significantly different from Project Masam\u2019s operations in other areas since its launch in 2018. While terrain and contamination levels may vary, the project consistently applies internationally recognised technical standards across all activities.<\/p>\n
Algosaibi also stated that after Midi, Project Masam teams will expand operations to additional districts in Hajjah Governorate, to be announced successively according to a set timetable. Priority will be given to areas most heavily contaminated with landmines.<\/p>\n
Through these efforts, Masam continues to pursue its humanitarian mission of protecting civilians from the dangers of landmines, explosive devices, and unexploded ordnance.<\/p>\n
