{"id":23582,"date":"2026-08-07T09:14:35","date_gmt":"2026-08-07T09:14:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/projectmasam.com\/eng\/?p=23582"},"modified":"2026-08-07T09:14:35","modified_gmt":"2026-08-07T09:14:35","slug":"project-masam-carries-out-demolition-operation-for-landmines-and-explosive-remnants-of-war-in-yemens-marib","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/projectmasam.com\/eng\/project-masam-carries-out-demolition-operation-for-landmines-and-explosive-remnants-of-war-in-yemens-marib\/","title":{"rendered":"Project Masam carries out demolition operation for landmines and explosive remnants of war in Yemen&#8217;s Marib"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"PDq2pG_selectionAnchorContainer\" data-start=\"265\" data-end=\"431\">Project Masam has carried out a controlled bulk demolition operation for a large number of landmines and explosive remnants of war in Marib Governorate.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"433\" data-end=\"727\">In a statement, Ahmed Al-Adhmad, Director of Operations at the Yemen Executive Mine Action Center (YEMAC), said the demolition operation was conducted in coordination with the engineering unit of the Special Security Forces in Marib Governorate.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"729\" data-end=\"1000\">Al-Adhmad explained that the explosive hazards destroyed during the operation had been recovered by Project Masam teams from internally displaced persons (IDP) camps, flood channels and valleys across the governorate, where they continued to pose a risk to civilians.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1002\" data-end=\"1289\">For his part, Colonel Abdul Khaliq Al-Sheikh, Head of Operations for the Special Security Forces in Marib Governorate, commended Project Masam&#8217;s continued efforts to protect civilians by clearing landmines and explosive remnants of war from contaminated areas across the governorate.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1291\" data-end=\"1569\">He said the demolition operation, carried out by Project Masam in cooperation with the engineering unit of the Special Security Forces, reflected the sustained efforts undertaken by demining and engineering teams in recent months to reduce the threat posed by explosive hazards.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1571\" data-end=\"1979\">Al-Sheikh added that the large quantity of landmines and explosive remnants of war destroyed during the operation illustrated the <a href=\"https:\/\/projectmasam.com\/eng\/plc-member-and-marib-governor-al-aradah-praises-project-masams-humanitarian-mine-action-efforts\/\">scale of contamination affecting Marib Governorate<\/a>.
