Teams also cleared 945,977 square metres of land during the reporting period.<\/p>\n<p>In the latest week alone, from 24 to 30 October, Project Masam cleared 2,037 explosive threats, including 33 anti-personnel mines, 109 anti-tank mines, 1,890 items of UXO and five IEDs, while clearing 255,046 square metres of land.<\/p>\n<p>The latest figures come as <a href=\"https:\/\/projectmasam.com\/eng\/project-masam-continues-operations-amid-intensified-military-activity-in-yemen-says-md-ousama-algosaibi\/\">Project Masam continues operating<\/a> despite significant security-related restrictions in parts of Yemen. Teams continue clearance, safe disposal, emergency-response and risk-education activities wherever operational conditions allow.<\/p>\n<p>The diversity of items cleared during October reflects the complex explosive threat facing communities across Yemen, where anti-personnel and anti-tank mines, UXO and IEDs can coexist within the same broader contamination environment and require different survey, clearance and disposal responses.<\/p>\n<p>Project Masam\u2019s demining, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), Special Tasks and emergency-response teams continue responding to reported hazards and carrying out clearance wherever conditions allow.<\/p>\n<p>Since operations began in 2018, Project Masam has cleared <a href=\"https:\/\/projectmasam.com\/eng\/project-masam-clears-600000-landmines-and-explosive-threats-in-yemen\/\">600,000 explosive threats<\/a>, including 7,842 anti-personnel mines, 153,384 anti-tank mines, 430,060 items of UXO and 8,714 IEDs.<\/p>\n<p>Teams have cleared 86,758,239 square metres of land since the project began.<\/p>\n<p>Project Masam continues to carry out humanitarian mine action in accordance with established technical and safety standards, helping reduce the impact of landmines and other explosive hazards on civilians and affected communities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Project Masam teams cleared 6,511 landmines and other explosive threats across Yemen during the first five reporting weeks of October 2026, as humanitarian mine-action operations continued despite significant security and movement restrictions.
